About

Our learning and improvement community...

Across our region we want to be the best at getting better - with continuous learning and improvement at the heart of everything we do, and in the way in which we work.

Through the sharing of learning, ideas, and good practice, and by trying new things together, we can find solutions to the challenges we face, and support each other to make a difference to the health of people living in our region.

Which is why in September 2022, we launched and started forming our learning and improvement community, bringing together people with a passion for improvement, innovation and change in health and care.

Our community builds on successes like the North East Transformation System and CLIC (Cumbria Learning and Improvement Community), and incorporates their long established and ground-breaking work to lead and embed a culture of co-production and learning.

Since holding our inaugural event, in September 2022, our community has grown from strength-to-strength. You can read more below, and find information on our upcoming and past events via our conferences page. Read about our journey so far in our blog.

What is Boost?

Boost is the new name for our community. It provides a hub for innovation, idea-sharing, networking, and supporting improvement efforts across the North East and North Cumbria.

While Boost is hosted by the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, our community is open to anyone with an interest in driving forward change in health and care.

It's an opportunity for people to come together, share good ideas, promote new solutions, as well as learn when things don't go well.

Join our Boost community!

Our ambition is for our community to be a vibrant and forward-thinking network, that everybody can benefit from.

Membership to our community is open to anyone with an interest in driving forward change in health and care in the North East and North Cumbria.

This includes people working in the NHS, local authorities, public health, voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE), people with lived experience, private sector providers and many more.

You can be from any discipline and at any stage in your career, all you need is a passion to improve health and care in the region.

Our events

All our events bring diverse minds together and have initiated a wave of positive influence in health and care practices across the region. At all our events there has been a clear commitment and enthusiasm in the room for change and to move ‘at pace’ to share learning and work collectively across health and care to improve care for patients and our communities in these key areas.
