Our Offer

In the health and care system in the North East and North Cumbria, we want to be the best at getting better – with continuous learning and improvement at the heart of everything we do, and in the way in which we work.

Through the sharing of learning, ideas, and good practice, and by trying new things together, we can find solutions to the challenges we face, and help each other to make a difference to the health of people living in our region.

Boost is here to support you on this journey, serving as a hub for innovation, idea-sharing, networking, and supporting improvement efforts.
Our four key areas of focus are:

  1. LEARN – providing access to leadership and improvement training and development, coaching, and events
  2. CONNECT – bringing like-minded people together to share and learn for the benefit of our health and care system
  3. LEAD – developing leaders and influencers in health and care to be effective convenors of system change
  4. IMPROVE – supporting staff to embed a culture of continuous quality improvement through the use of common methods and tools
We collaborate with partners across the North East and North Cumbria to achieve improvements in seven priority areas. Our approach emphasises learning, experimentation, and engagement, supported by a growing learning and improvement community and evolving infrastructure.
Most of our programmes and activities are open to all staff working within the North East and North Cumbria health and care system and includes people working in the Integrated Care Board (ICB), NHS trusts, GP and primary care specialists, local authorities, public health, voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, private sector providers and many more.
We will support your learning by following up after any programme to find out what changes you have made and what impact this has had. This evidence is vital for us to ensure that we can continue to offer support and to be able to extend this offering to meet our staff and volunteers' needs into the future.

Before booking, please speak with your line manager to ensure that the offering fits with your team's priorities, and agree how you will use the learning back in your workplace to benefit patients and service users. It will be helpful to use a contracting form to do this.
