The Food Foundation – a registered charity working to galvanise the UK’s diverse agents of change – is pleased to announce that their flagship Broken Plate Report 2025 is now available. The report looks at the trends impacting the UK’s food system and the actions needed from policymakers in order to ensure everyone can afford healthy and sustainable food.
Since August, they have been working with eight citizens from across the UK, who as experts by experience of food insecurity have contributed their unique insights to the report through the medium of photography. Each participant took photos of their food environments to shed light on how they experience the broken food system. At the end of January, the citizens headed to Westminster to exhibit their pieces alongside the report .
Now available! The online Broken Plate photo-storytelling exhibition demonstrates the reality of food insecurity, and how this complex issue intertwines with issues of fuel poverty, housing, parenthood, culture, disability, nutritious and health. The online exhibition not only includes their photographs and captions, but also audio clips so that you can hear their voices, thoughts and calls to action.
