Compassionate leadership for whole system working – join our leadership community in the North East and North Cumbria

February 21, 2024

Compassionate leadership in health and care is not just a nice-to-have. There is a clear relationship between the wellbeing of staff and the wellbeing of service users. For example, hospitals with higher staff engagement have lower mortality rates, better outcomes, and make significantly fewer mistakes (The 2009 Boorman Review – The King’s Fund, 2012).

This is a fantastic opportunity open to all staff who work at any level in health and care in the North East and North Cumbria to attend a live virtual session led by the renowned Professor Michael West. Please join us at this event on:

Monday 11 March 2024, 9:30am – 11:00am, Online: Microsoft Teams

During the session, Michael will cover:

  1. the business case for compassionate leadership;
  2. the importance of psychological safety and a strong relational approach – in particular for collaboration (cross-boundary working and working with our communities); and
  3. innovation through strong leadership.

It is vital that we build a strong community of system leaders in the North East and North Cumbria to help foster strong collaboration, and nurture safe spaces for innovation and improvement. This session will also act as an opportunity for you to help shape our region’s leadership community of practice, and you will be invited after the event to be involved in other activities to support our approach to leadership.
