Digital Weight Management Programme update

The Healthy Weight and Treating Obesity Programme, part of the Boost Learning Academy, offers free, high-quality learning resources to support healthcare professionals in improving patient care and outcomes.

 

New modules available now

A number of new modules have been added to the Learning Academy. These resources are designed to strengthen knowledge and practice in weight management:

  • Tirzepatide in Primary Care
    A recorded webinar from 2nd July providing guidance on the rollout and use of Tirzepatide. Ideal for those who missed the live session or want a recap.

Programme update

  • Funding: Practices will receive £11.50 per referral, with total funding of £7.2 million for the Weight Management Enhanced Service.

  • Impact: Since April 2025, 3,230 patients have been successfully referred to the Digital Weight Management Programme across the region.

Referral criteria

To ensure referrals are accepted, patients must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • BMI of 30+ (adjusted to ≥27.5 for people from Black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds)
  • Diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or both

Please ensure all patient details are entered correctly to support the referral process.
