Accessing healthcare for menopause, heavy menstrual bleeding, or contraception can be challenging for women across England. To address this, the Department of Health and Social Care has promoted the development of Women’s Health Hubs – bringing vital services together in one place to make care more accessible.
A recent evaluation of Sunderland’s Women’s Health Hub, based at Pallion Health Centre, set out to determine whether this approach delivers value for money and tangible benefits for women and health and care.
The analysis found that for every £1 invested, the Sunderland Women’s Health Hub generates £8 in benefits over 10 years. These benefits include:
