As part of the Health Equity Academy at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT), the team are collaborating with the University of Sunderland to deliver a bespoke Tackling Health (care) inequalities course. The course looks at unfair and avoidable differences in health, what causes them, and how we can take positive action in our day-to-day roles to reduce them. Now in its third year, the number of delegates has more than doubled to include members of the wider workforce across the region.
The February Health Equity Academy session will be an opportunity for staff who will have just completed the course to showcase and share their projects. We will also hear from several guest speakers, as well as interactive market stalls and a chance to network during the lunch break.
