Building on the work which developed the ‘London Model’ of cancer care, the Northern Cancer Alliance has developed the improving psychological wellbeing in cancer project, aiming to understand the psychosocial needs of people with a cancer diagnosis and their loved ones.

Developed in partnership with cancer psychology services across the region, this project aims to understand the current provision across the North East, as well as any gaps in patient experience.

Collaboration and connection are key to this project, as good communication between services is a foundation to providing good patient support. As such, the team aims to connect with NHS services (including cancer/palliative care support, mental health services etc.) as well as charities and third sector organisations.
