Brought to you by Boost in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, this Lunch & Learn session on 14 December 2023 saw Emma-Jayne Green (regional project manager – North, Advantage Mentoring CIC) deliver a presentation on ‘Advantage Mentoring: Supporting young peoples’ mental health’.
Our Lunch & Learns are short, informal events that take place at lunchtime – while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker give a short talk sharing information about their work, as well as their experience of improvement.
In this session we learned more about Advantage – a unique partnership between two ‘community assets’ and ‘anchor institutions’ – the charitable arms of professional football clubs (known as Club Community Organisations (CCOs)), and their local NHS Trusts. The programme has been designed by senior NHS strategists and CCO staff to increase access to NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and help tackle waiting times and reduce health inequalities by providing weekly 1-2-1 mentoring support for young people aged 14-21.
