Brought to you by Boost in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, this LUNCH & LEARN session on 14 January 2025 saw Dr Clarissa Giebel (senior research fellow at the University of Liverpool and the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast) deliver a presentation on ‘Co-producing a board game to educate about dementia inequalities’.

Our LUNCH & LEARNs are short, informal events that take place at lunchtime – while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker as they give a short talk sharing information about their work, as well as their experience of improvement.

Receiving and accessing care after a diagnosis of dementia, both for the person and their carer, are fraught with inequalities. In this session, we heard about a public engagement activity which co-produced a board game about dementia inequalities. The game was designed to support learning, dialogue and educate about different barriers, and facilitators, to diagnosis and care and to test the game’s impact on dementia knowledge with the general public.
