Brought to you by Boost in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, this LUNCH & LEARN session on 13 March 2025 saw Marie Gregg (Project Manager, Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust) deliver a presentation on ‘Improving patient journey and experience from admission to discharge using process improvement’.
Our LUNCH & LEARNs are short, informal events that take place at lunchtime – while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker as they give a short talk sharing information about their work, as well as their experience of improvement.
This session gave an overview of the Barnsley Project and the work which has been happening to improve flow and discharges within the hospital. It explored how the team are working with inefficiencies identified within the patient journey from before admission to discharge, with the aim of reducing length of stay and improving patient experience.
