Brought to you by CLIC in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, this Lunch & Learn session on 16 June 2023 saw Karen Dutton (Let’s Talk Bereavement Project Lead, North East and North Cumbria ICB) deliver a presentation on the ‘Let’s Talk Bereavement Project’.
This session provided information about the 2-year project, including the background, engagement, and impact so far.
Grief is a very unique experience and there are many barriers that inhibit people’s ability to grieve in the way they need. The training provided through the project is having an impact and improving understanding around grief and increasing confidence to enable individuals to talk about grief and support each other.
It is important that we start to normalise conversations around death, dying and grief as unsupported grief can lead to long term health and well-being issues.
