Brought to you by Boost in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, this LUNCH & LEARN session on 29 April 2025 saw Christianne Ormston (Primary Care Programme Lead, North East and North Cumbria ICB) deliver a presentation on ‘Primary Care Access Recovery Plan (PCARP): Working to improve patient experience in accessing primary care’.
Our LUNCH & LEARNs are short, informal events that take place at lunchtime – while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker as they give a short talk sharing information about their work, as well as their experience of improvement.
The session covered the national aims of PCARP, including: empowering patients; modern general practice access; building capacity; and cutting bureaucracy. We explored what this has meant for primary care, the improvements made in North East and North Cumbria, and what patient experience is telling us. We opened up a discussion on the benefits and challenges, with a view to gathering patient experience from colleagues to help shape future change.
