Brought to you by Boost in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, this Lunch & Learn session on 8 February 2024 saw Julian Penton (Hartlepower Community Trust VCS Development Team), Sarah McClusky (Hartlepool Borough Council Youth Service) and colleague Amelia deliver a presentation on ‘Social prescribing for young people in Hartlepool’.

Our Lunch & Learns are short, informal events that take place at lunchtime – while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker give a short talk sharing information about their work, as well as their experience of improvement.

The session described Hartlepool’s young people’s social prescribing model, and explored the questions that were raised by participants at the recent ‘Always the Right Door’ children and young people’s mental health summit. These included:

  • What are the boundaries, if any, between social prescribing link workers and therapeutic practitioners?
  • How is ‘wellbeing’ understood?
  • How long can young people engage with the service and who can refer in?
  • What levels of emotional distress are experienced by the young people engaging with the service?

Take a look at the recordings of our previous Lunch & Learn sessions here, and our upcoming dates here…

If you would like to present and share your innovations/improvements across a wider platform, please get in touch.
