Discover how time in nature can boost your health and wellbeing at the Nature for Health and Wellbeing Fair, taking place on Saturday 4 October, 11am–3pm at Woodhorn Museum, Workshop Galleries, QEII Country Park, Ashington NE63 9YF.
This free-entry event (standard museum admission applies) is perfect for social prescribers, link workers, carers, and anyone curious about the healing power of nature. While adult-focused, everyone is welcome.
The fair celebrates the vital role nature plays in supporting our mental and physical wellbeing. With over 20 stalls, you’ll find volunteering opportunities, training, campaigns, and activities across Northumberland’s green and coastal spaces.
Highlights include:
“There is so much research out there now that shows us that the closer we get to nature, the happier and healthier we become… Come along and find out how you can get involved in local initiatives that could also support your own health and wellbeing.”
— Jo Burke, Nature and Wellbeing Officer, Northumberland Wildlife Trust
Catch up on our recent Lunch & Learn session:
“Nature for Health and Wellbeing” presented by Jo Burke on 17 July 2025, in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service.
Jo explored the proven benefits of green health and how nature can be embedded into everyday and professional services – especially for diverse and marginalised groups.
