The ARC North East and North Cumbria has developed a series of short films which aim to support engagement with members of the public, community groups and patients.
Two of the films have been co-produced by members of the Jewish community and D/deaf community in the North East and North Cumbria.
The films aim to introduce researchers, VCSE organisations and public partners to inclusive public involvement and community engagement in health and social care research.
They are intended to give some suggestions about things to consider when approaching different people and communities and to ensure that research is inclusive and accessible.
The films cover:
- An Introduction to Public Involvement and Community Engagement from Felicity Shenton, Public Involvement and Community Engagement Manager from the ARC NENC.
- An introduction to Jewish Cultural Awareness from Jonathan Klajn, Project Director of the Jewish Community Council of Gateshead.
- Guidance for Researchers on Engaging with BSL Users and the Deaf Community from EJ Raymond.
