A collaborative project in North Cumbria recently launched a new website to help support recruitment and increase the visibility of primary care services.
‘Primary Care Services North Cumbria’ is a collaboration of NHS Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and partner organisations working together to build resilience and improve patient outcomes. It is supported by the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) at Place, with the collaboration growing from long established working relationships between NHS general practices in North Cumbria.
The website – www.primarycarenorthcumbria.co.uk – acts as a ‘front door’ to services (which along with GP surgeries now also includes pharmacy, dentistry and ophthalmology).
The site also brings together resources for both communities and staff with a strong focus on recruitment in North Cumbria including job vacancies, general career enquiry forms, training opportunities, fellowships, and a developing training hub. It also features health support with resources like ‘The Sound Doctor’ which provides a library of bite-sized films that are easy to understand and a proven, effective way to help people manage long-term conditions.
Social media accounts (@myhealthncumbria) have also been created with a wider scope of supporting local health and wellbeing initiatives, as well as providing important highlights into the world of primary care and general wellness inspiration. The website will continue to develop as part of the project and it is hoped that it will become a very useful local resource to support digital developments and provide North Cumbria with a crucial wider platform to support their local recruitment priorities.
