Fresh is launching the next phase of the “Smoking Survivors” campaign across the North East and North Cumbria from December 28, aiming to inspire quit attempts during the New Year – the most popular time for people to stop smoking.
This five-week campaign will run across TV, video on demand, outdoor and radio, with digital advertising continuing until mid-February. It will feature four new adverts highlighting real-life stories of smoking survivors – showing both the harms caused by smoking and emphasising the benefits of quitting. The key message is:
“Every cigarette takes around 20 minutes off your life – but quitting smoking gives life back.”
The campaign encourages people to believe that quitting is possible and achievable, and that it’s never too late to stop and see health benefits. All adverts and resources will direct people to FreshQuit.co.uk, where they can access advice and local stop smoking services.
A PR toolkit is available below with campaign details, template articles, social media posts, and downloadable resources including social images, animations, pharmacy screens, and posters. These can be accessed here: https://www.freshquit.co.uk/resources-library/smokingsurvivors/
We encourage partners to share these resources and help amplify motivation to quit at this crucial time of year.
This campaign is part of a collaborative effort between local authority public health teams and the North East and North Cumbria NHS Integrated Care Board.
