
Within North East and North Cumbria, as part of our commitment to take a learning and improvement approach to everything we do, we often use peer review to help teams critically appraise their practice and learn from other teams working in the same field.
One of the great strengths of the Peer Review approach is that it is a safe space where teams can be open and share real challenges with people who have a common understanding of the context and issues.
Through this work we have seen that some people appreciate guidance and practical help in organising a peer review process and in want to learn how to act as an effective peer.
We therefore decided to develop a peer review toolkit, which we did with support from colleagues at the Advancing Quality Alliance (Aqua). The kit is freely available to Boost members to download and use and we hope to develop some case studies of its usage and continue to improve it:
