Co-production workshops – Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)/Dyspraxia

Northumbria University is hosting a series of online co-production workshops to develop evidence-based training resources on Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)/Dyspraxia. These resources aim to increase knowledge, raise awareness, and improve understanding of how best to support children with DCD/Dyspraxia and their families.

 

Who are these workshops for?

The workshops are open to participants from across sectors, including:

  • Healthcare professionals: Paediatricians, GPs, school nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists.
  • Education professionals: Teachers, teaching assistants, SENDCos, school leaders.
  • The wider community: Clubs and groups, parents, families, and anyone interested in supporting children with DCD/Dyspraxia.

 

Why take part?

Training resources will be co-developed with:

  • Academics and researchers.
  • Practitioners from healthcare and education.
  • Families with lived experience.

The ultimate goal is to embed evidence-based training within policy and practice across sectors, ensuring children and families receive the best possible support.

 

Workshop details

All sessions will be held online via Microsoft Teams:

  • Healthcare Workshop – Friday 6 February 2026, 10:00 – 13:00
  • Education Workshop – Wednesday 11 February 2026, 10:00 – 13:00
  • Community Workshop – Friday 13 February 2026, 10:00 – 13:00

You are welcome to attend any of these workshops, as the team aim to have representation from all sectors in each session.

If you are interested in taking part, please indicate your preferred workshop(s) using the online registration form. Once preferences are submitted, Northumbria University will confirm your allocation and send consent forms for completion.

This research has received ethical approval from the University of Bradford Ethics Committee (Ref: E1026).
