Social-prescribing

Social prescribing for North East and North Cumbria offers personalised wellbeing support for NHS staff, helping colleagues access practical support to stay well, feel more connected, and manage challenges that may affect their health, wellbeing or work.

The service is designed for colleagues who may be experiencing difficulties such as stress, isolation, financial worries, housing concerns, confidence issues, or challenges linked to work or ill health. Support is tailored to individual needs and can help colleagues connect with local services, community resources and wider wellbeing support.

Taking a holistic approach to wellbeing can make a positive difference for both individuals and organisations. Social prescribing recognises that health and work can be affected by a range of wider factors, and provides supportive, person-centred conversations to help colleagues identify what matters to them and what support may be available.

Support can help colleagues to:

  • Talk through concerns in a safe and supportive way.
  • Explore practical options for improving wellbeing.
  • Access local services, activities and community resources.
  • Build confidence, resilience and social connection.
  • Find support with wider issues that may be affecting health or work.

NHS colleagues can self-refer into the service using the Staff Wellbeing Hub Social Prescribing self-referral form (available below). Completed forms should be sent to [email protected]
